EXPERIMENT WEEKEND
A New Way to Experience Downtown SB
Come downtown to check out a series of demonstration projects to re-energize the street. Experiments include: expansive outdoor dining areas, interactive art installations, and featured pop-ups from local start-up companies.
Experiment Weekend Activities
Friday, April 19, 7 PM - Midnight at the State St. Underpass
: FLOW
Presented by The Arts Fund, local artists will illuminate the State St. Underpass with a light art exhibit. Don't miss this exciting debut of a new art experience downtown. Bring friends and family to enjoy dinner at a downtown restaurant and then ride the MTD electric shuttle for free to the Underpass for light installations and music. DJ music by Party Proper Productions.
Saturday, April 20, 12 PM - 10 PM; 400-500 Blocks: B(Eats) on the Street
Enjoy music, art activities and great food from downtown restaurants under the canopy of trees on State Street, where a pedestrian promenade will be created for the day. Families will enjoy painting large coloring book walls and chalk drawing on State Street. Lighting installations featured on the 400 and 500 blocks in the evening hours. Enjoy the Paint and Sip wine garden.
Local entrepreneurs will fill vacant spaces on State Street. Shop for handcrafted items and learn about local startup companies. Stores open: April 19-May 19.
