JCFD unveils new ladder truck
|
The Johns Creek Fire Department's latest vehicle in its fleet is a 59-foot long Tractor Drawn Aerial ladder truck that weighs more than 68,000 pounds and has a driver seat in the front and rear, making it highly maneuverable.

Each July 4, thousands of people, most often children and teens, are injured while using consumer fireworks. Despite the dangers of fireworks, few people understand the associated risks - devastating burns, other injuries, fires, and even death.
Stay safe this summer and enjoy fireworks displays managed by experts. And, view fireworks safety tips from the National Fire Protection Agency.

Stay safe on the Chattahoochee River this summer
|
When the Corps of Engineers releases water from Lake Lanier, the resulting surge of water can cause the Chattahoochee River to rise several feet in a short amount of time.
During the summer, the Johns Creek Fire Department (JCFD) Swift Water Rescue Team responds several times a month to emergency calls to rescue people from the frigid, rushing water of the river.

Sign up for H.E.A.T. program
|
H.E.A.T. (Hometown Emergency Action Teams) is a partnership between the citizens of Johns Creek and the Johns Creek Fire Department.
The Fire Marshal's Office operates H.E.A.T., providing citizens with the real world training to prepare for emergency and disaster situations.
H.E.A.T. training is customized to meet the unique needs of participants. Training ranges from comprehensive skills for citizen response teams working with Emergency Services to fire extinguisher and CPR training for small businesses.

Save the Date: Community Safety Day, Sept. 29
|
Mark you calendars for the annual Community Safety Day event!
The family-friendly event is an opportunity to view fire trucks and equipment up close, watch live safety demonstrations, and learn safety tips.
The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Target/Home Depot parking lot, 5950 State Bridge Road, Johns Creek.

The Johns Creek Fire Department offers Child Passenger Safety Education to parents and caregivers. Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians
do not perform the installation of car seats.
