Literacy Plus in Motion for Adults
For your summer enjoyment and enhancement, The Belle Glade Branch Library is offering a "free" 4 week, one hour course for adults in July. "Literacy Plus in Motion classes will be held Thursdays, starting July 5, 2018 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm in the Belle Glade Branch Library's conference room. Topics will include creative and resume writing, basic grammar, and public speaking.

South Bay Youth Football and Cheer Now Accepting Registration for Ages 5-14
Kings Tutoring & Mentoring Foundation has formed a new youth football/cheer program in the Treasure Coast Pop Warner League. South Bay have not had a program of such in over 18 years. KTM and former coaches from South Bay Youth Football League have teamed up and put this program together in the city of South Bay. We are currently taking recruiting and excepting applications for Migrant and seasonal Farmworkers for Vocational Trainings with local vocational schools and colleges in the glades and West Palm Beach Area. Summer BreakSpot provides nutritious meals at no cost to children while school is out for the summer. There is no application necessary and any child age 18 or younger can come during meal times to receive a free meal. Many meal sites are located at places like schools, libraries and churches and offer breakfasts, lunches, snacks or supper. Note: not all sites are open daily or provide every meal service. Grant Opportunity: 2018-2019 Tau Grant
The first cycle of Tau Grants this year will support Capacity Building. Grant applications should show how the organization aligns with Allegany Franciscan Ministries' mission, and impact at least one of the social determinants of health. Requests up to $10,000 will be considered.
The three social determinants of health that will be addressed for the first cycle are education, economic stability, and health & healthcare.
Organizations with an operating budget of $2 million and over are not eligible for Tau Grants. Please see our website for more information about eligibility and limitations.
