NOLA is a city of celebrations and this summer is no exception.  This month alone, we've celebrated the Oyster Festival, Pride, and the Creole Tomato Festival. Don't worry - you'll have plenty of time to engage with these events and others (ever heard of Mardi Gras?!) during your time at Tulane. We'll even help you get the merriment started by introducing you to festival life during First Fest. It's the final event of New Student Orientation and the first  of many festivals you'll enjoy as a Tulane student!

In the meantime, check out the features below for previews of fun to come and ways to get involved. We've also highlighted upcoming dates and deadlines.Today is also the last day to finalize your roommate profile and preference your roommates(s) for your housing application. More information from Housing & Residence Life is below. Make sure you stay on task with the Class of 2022 Checklist and New Student Guidebook - both were created with you in mind and will help you prepare for life at Tulane!

Tulane Reading Project
The Tulane Reading Project, the common intellectual experience for the entering first-year class, engages students and faculty from different backgrounds and academic interests through the reading and discussion of a selected book.

Over the summer, students in the Class of 2022 should read Beartown by Fredrick Backman and come prepared to discuss the book with a faculty member and a group of their new classmates during New Student Orientation. The book is available for purchase at the Tulane bookstore and on Amazon. Learn more here.
