Sponsors Needed!

We are now accepting Sponsor Applications and auction items for Deep in the Heart of Caring.  This is our biggest fundraiser of the year! With your help, we can continue to make a huge difference in our community through our many programs and services.  This is a great event to sponsor, attend with important guests, and also receive some organization recognition!

You can find our information packet on our website at:

Don't forget, sponsors will have the opportunity to be recognized in our newsletter and on Social Media!
Call Rita for more information at 512-943-0702.

July Inventory Sky Rockets!

During the summer we find that between vacations people are cleaning out their homes and donating wonderful items.  Sofas, art, lamps, tables, chairs are all coming in daily to the Donations drive through.  In fact we've broken some records this summer!  What does that mean for shoppers?  A great selection at both stores for dorms, apartments and new homes you might be moving in to this fall!

Really love clothes shopping and need some for school?  Don't worry, we have that covered too.  The Shops at The Caring Place has a great selection of casual clothes and you'll find our higher end pieces in the department we call "The Boutique."

* Insider Shopping Tip:  Our stores are 10% off every Tuesday!  And, you can now start looking for special money saving coupons in your Community Impact Newspaper!

What About the Community Benefit?

When donating to and shopping for items at Second Helping and The Shops at The Caring Place, you are also helping to fund programs and services that help our community.   Sales from both stores MORE than cover the operating costs at The Caring Place.  This means when you make a financial contribution, 100% of it directly impacts neighbors in need.  Where should you shop?

The Shops at The Caring Place
2000 Railroad Avenue | Monday-Saturday, 9am-4pm | Thursdays until 7pm

Second Helping
3700 Williams Drive | Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm

What do we need in July for the Food Pantry?
Want to volunteer for Fresh Food for Families that we host on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Monday morning of each month?  If your organization is interested in this opportunity call Rita at  512-943-0702.
For information on holding a food drive click here .  And, for information on giving a monetary donation to assist our neighbors, click here .

Thank you to volunteer Lorraine Uhrig for this holiday Do It Yourself idea.  Lorraine sees so many items come through our stores and knew she could create a fun decor item herself for cheaper than a retail store. This is what she came up with, and for under $7, we think she did great!

Your item donations, shopping trips to our thrift stores, financial donations and volunteer time make a difference to people in our community.  This is just a glimpse of the impact you helped us make in the previous month.

Where You Shop Matters...
