For 128 years, Northwestern Settlement has nurtured, educated, and inspired children and families in need in Chicago. Join us in changing lives through arts, education, and social services!
Dear Supporters and Friends,

As you already know, Governor Pritzker has extended the shelter-in-place order till May 30th meaning the Settlement will remain partially closed. However, our work continues. I am writing to assure you that our food pantry will stay open, operating on site Monday through Thursday, from 9am to 12pm. Additionally, all remote programs and services will continue.

Northwestern Settlement is adhering to CDC/Illinois State Guidelines and will reopen programs in stages as further guidance is received on how to do so in a safe manner. There has been enormous sacrifice across our community and the entire country, but we have come far in the fight against this virus. We look towards the day when we can once again greet families and children as they arrive for programs.

We will continue to share updates and spotlights about the work our staff is doing. Thank you for standing with Northwestern Settlement as we adapt to meet the needs of our community.
Sincerely,
Ron Manderschied
President

New Opportunity to Support the Food Pantry!

Giving Tuesday is organizing a new campaign, #GivingTuesdayNow. #GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5th as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. GoFundMe is working with #GivingTuesdayNow to give $1,000 match grants to nonprofits raising money for Coronavirus relief on their platform, up to $300,000. To qualify, organizations need to raise $1,000 in online contributions from 10 different donors between April 16th and May 10th.  Northwestern Settlement's campaign for the food pantry  is very close to qualifying. Grants are first come, first serve - so please, donate today any amount you can. Together, we will make a difference!
The food pantry is open Monday-Thursday from 9 am to 12 pm at 1400 W Augusta Blvd. Pick up a pre-packed box of food and supplies through our contact-less distribution model.

Or, sign up for a volunteer shift here. Shifts are four hours long, Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. Volunteers are asked to stay for the duration of their shift, so please only sign up for dates you know you can attend.
