Sound Healing with Tibetan Singing Bowls 4/15
Peace for Body, Mind, and Soul 3:30-4:30 pm.

Return to OM
Feel the magic of Tibetan singing bowls, and float on the sound vibrations into a deeply meditative state. Allow the sound healing to push your re-set button and bring about a restorative state at the cellular level. Tune into the primal Earth frequency -- healing for body, mind, and spirit.

Bring along a yoga mat, cushions for head and under the knees, eye cover, water (and whatever else to make you feel comfortable while lying down). Bring a comfortable chair if you can't lie down. Please arrive a few minutes before we begin. This event is for ages 16 and up.

Conscious investment: $10.00

Location: Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Temple, 398 Kilauea Ave, Hilo, HI 96720 (upstairs in annex on right)

Ecstatic Dance is a free-form conscious dance space devoted to self-expression, community building & empowerment. Come to move your body, heart, and soul. There are no expectations on how to move. All ages and backgrounds are welcome.

This week's headliner -- TYLER GIBSON !!!

Tyler is popularly known for being one half of the futuristic world-electronic duo, 'Birds of Paradise'. With over a decade of producing, his creations are masterful in quality and vision. His music is capable of enhancing and creating psychedelic states and effortlessly guiding the mind and soul through space and time.  Tyler's music features dynamic voyages that spin us through the cosmos. Experimental, and pulling ideas and techniques from many genres, the production quality of the individual sounds is something special, drawing listeners in with compellingly beautiful and mysterious tones. Wizard music for the 21st Century, it conjures images of ancient rites and dire space battles. Added narrative and ambitious melodies will carry these atmospheric beats to new levels.

BIPC Giving Award to Hawaii Tracker During Free Community Talk 4/18

The Big Island Press Club is awarding its inaugural Excellence in Media Innovation award to the Hawaii Tracker Facebook Group during a community talk on April 18 at the Hawaii Academy of Arts and Sciences School in Pahoa from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

An online information community, Hawaii Tracker was originally created by Ryan Finlay in 2014 to keep Puna residents informed and connected during the Pahoa lava threat. During the historic 2018 eruption, Hawaii Tracker became an essential resource for both Big Island residents and family and friends around the globe.

Hawaii Tracker inspired the inaugural award from the press club, because of their innovative and consistent outreach during the 2018 Kilauea eruption. The community online resource participated in daily media briefings alongside journalists from around the world. Because the team has members with diverse skills and backgrounds they could provide updates in a variety of fields throughout the day. Through Facebook Live videos, daily written updates, video interviews with experts, GIS mapping, weather mapping, and other multimedia tools, Hawaii Tracker was able to keep members informed around the clock.

For more information, contact Big Island Press Club President John Burnett at (808) 464-9691 or email info@bigislandpressclub.org.
