What's Happening at SBC?
  • Our K-6 students celebrated Literacy Week from March 12th - 16th. They explored stories and literature, within the theme of Robert Munsch. The older students helped them celebrate Munsch by performing skits and tableaus within our school Family Groups. Various members of the St. John's community shared in Literacy Week by reading to our students. We even had a visit from players of the St. John's Edge Basketball team, who then played an intense game of one on one with our Grade 6's!
Grade 6 students (from left) Olivia C, Luci T, Veronica C and Meghan M hang out with Edge players Russel Byrd and Charles Hinkle.

  • Seven Grade 10 students - Ben McCarthy, Maggie McCarthy, Zoe Baker Pike, Doyle Stone, Abbey Moores, Jessica Casey and Madison Hull - travelled to the 2018 Arrupe Leadership Summit, a leadership and social justice program in Sparks, MD from March 8th -11th. They've returned to school with many great ideas on how they can increase their social justice initiatives.
Grade 10 students spent the day in Washington, DC on the way to the leadership conference.
