At the halfway point of 2018, we are presented with an economy that is steadily improving amidst the political bantering happening in Washington D.C. Both the residential and commercial markets in Metro Atlanta appear to be healthy and one of the key economic drivers for our region.
As this year's Chapter President, I have been committed to reaching out to other organizations within the real estate sector, to increase visibility of the Atlanta Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. My goal is to increase networking opportunities for our members and trumpet the benefit of working with a designated real estate appraiser.
Over the next several months, I hope to continue the dialogue with other organizations and extend invitations for our events to their members while finding opportunities for you to interact and network outside of the Chapter. Meeting new real estate professionals will always be good for business in the long-term and can contribute to professional growth and development. The market, and the world for that matter, will never become stationary or complacent - neither should we as appraisal professionals.
I encourage you to further your education with an AI seminar/course, attend one of our remaining chapter meetings for 2018, consider attending the upcoming State of Atlanta event, expand your professional network, and embrace change. Always remember that we all have a responsibility to this organization and to contribute to maintaining public trust. From a utilitarian standpoint, we should all work towards the greater good for the greater number.
I look forward to serving and making myself available to our membership.
Best Regards,
Marlon Day, MAI, SRA
