The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International, or AUVSI, has announced the finalists in its annual Xcellence Awards and the Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus has made the list.

Scholarship opportunities
Aviation Students
The Textron Aviation Leadership Scholarship shall be awarded to juniors and/or seniors that are full-time K-State Polytechnic students majoring in one of the aviation options. Students selected will be outstanding aviation students in the top of their class academically, with demonstrated leadership abilities and have exhibited the highest ethics and standards of the aviation industry. The award amounts will vary, based on the earnings for the endowed scholarship. Deadline: April 26, 2019 by 5:00 p.m.
CRITERIA
1. Applicants must have completed 60 hours of coursework in one of the aviation major options.
2. Applicants should provide a current resume highlighting outstanding achievements of exhibited leadership in the field of aviation, as well as the college and community.
3. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in receiving the scholarship by submitting a typewritten 1-2 page essay on how this scholarship will enhance their ability to enter an aviation career.
4. Applicants must include a copy of their college transcript with application materials.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Interested students should apply by forwarding documentation of established criteria above, along with the essay to Cindy Newell, Financial Aid Coordinator, Room 209, College Center.
Air Traffic Control Association awarded 10 scholarships worth $108,000 to aviation students last year. Available to both part-time and full-time students. Deadline: May 1, 2019 Apply Here .
Women in Aviation is offering a number of scholarships to help students obtain flight ratings or tuition assistance. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Deadline: May 31, 2019 . Apply Here .
Kansas Residents
The Board of Regents offers scholarships to Kansas residents. K-State Polytechnic students have received the Kansas State Scholarship, Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship and the Kansas Military Service Scholarship in the past. Deadline: May 1, 2019 . Apply Here
Professional Pilot Students
The Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship is now accepting applications. Must be a full-time student in a pilot program with one semester completed . Deadline: April 15, 2019. Apply Here
Bill Cowden Memorial Aviation Scholarship is open to students who have completed their private pilot. Deadline: May 1, 2019 . Apply Here .

Employee Tuition Assistance
Some K-State employees may be eligible for employee tuition assistance. Up to 3 credit hours of tuition a semester is possible. Must be a full-time (0.9 FTE or above), benefits-eligible position. For more information, visit http://www.k-state.edu/sfa/manage/forms/eta1.pdf .
Dependent/Spouse Grant
Dependents and spouses of full-time (0.9 FTE or above), benefits eligible, regular appointment employees may qualify for the dependent/spouse grant – up to 7 hours for full-time, undergraduate dependents and 3 hours for spouses and graduate dependents.
