Guide to Advent and Christmas Events at FPC Concord
Sunday, December 1, 3:00 p.m.  
Christmas Tree Lighting and Caroling
Kick off the Advent season with outdoor ornament projects for the kids, carol singing, holiday refreshments and the lighting of our outdoor Christmas tree.
 
Wednesday, December 4, 6:00 p.m.
Annual Joy Offering Dinner
Come out for a wonderful evening of dining and entertainment in Davis Hall with a program by our own Molly Morrison. Because this is a special  Wednesday night dinner event, please be sure to get your RSVP to the church by Tuesday, November 27.

Sunday, December 8
Worship service -  11:00 a.m.
The Sanctuary Choir and guest instrumentalists from the Charlotte Symphony will present a program of lessons and carols during the 11:00 a.m. worship service.  You will not want to miss this event with beloved arrangements of Christmas carols by David Willcocks and John Rutter as well as our annual singing of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus.  Please invite your friends and family to share in this wonderful observance of Christmas.

Tuesday, December 10
The Longest Night Service -  Service at 7:00 p.m.
A service of healing and wholeness for those who are experiencing grief or loss during the holidays.  

Wednesday, December 11, 6:00 p.m.
Children's Choir Christmas Showcase
Come out for a wonderful evening of dining and entertainment in Davis Hall.  The Children's Choir, directed by Jacquie Yost, will present a short program of upbeat Christmas songs that will surely lift your spirits.  Because this is a Wednesday night dinner event, please be sure to get your RSVP to the church by Monday, December 9th.

Friday, December 20, 7:00 p.m.
Organ Concert
Everyone is cordially invited to an organ recital presented by organ students from the North Carolina School of the Arts.  This recital is free and open to the public.  Come hear our beautifully renovated and enhanced Flentrop organ!

Sunday, December 15, 5:00 p.m.
Candlelight Christmas Pageant -
Our youth will tell the story of Jesus' birth, joined by our four-year-old children as Christmas angels.  This year our youth are inviting kindergarten-5th graders to help joyfully tell the story by being animals in the manager. Costumes will be ready to pick up and put on when you arrive for the pageant and children will be invited up to join the scene during the pageant. Following worship, we will join in the singing of "Silent Night" in the traditional candle lighting on the front walk of the sanctuary.

Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24
Worship services - 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. 
The 5:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service will be oriented toward families with younger children, with special music by our Youth and Children's Choirs.  Communion will be served in the pews with trays.  A nursery will be provided for infants and small children.  
  
The 10:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service will serve communion at the front of the sanctuary by intinction. Special music will be provided by the Sanctuary Choir.
