s International Journalism class on April 1 to talk about media in Nigeria. She answered student questions ranging from reporting the Boko Haram insurgency, gender and media in Nigeria, addressing stereotypes and biases, to the importance of creating fair and responsible media content.

Dr. Joshua Potter
from the Center of Teaching Excellence will be a guest at the research brown bag lunch from noon to 1 p.m. on April 29 in Room 303, Stauffer-Flint Hall. Potter will present “Mapping the Journalism Curriculum.” This is an informal gathering, so attendees may arrive late or leave early for a class.
The next meeting of the Experimental Research Club will be at 5:15 p.m. on April 17 in Room 116, Stauffer-Flint Hall.
The Kansas Association of Broadcasters and Missouri Broadcasters Association annual Sports Seminar is
May 7 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m

The afternoon will include the presentation of the Hod Humiston Award, roundtable topics, a presentation from Sporting Kansas City announcers and staff, and a tour of one of the top professional sports venues in the country. Registration is $10 for members and $15 for non-members is due May 2.

Ike’s Soldiers, a program that honors Dwight D. Eisenhower’s legacy through the compelling stories of the soldiers he led, is looking for students to gather and share these stories with the world through IKEducation programs and digital media platforms. Participants are asked to capture and edit videos according to the Eisenhower Foundation’s guidelines. For every interview that is submitted according to the guidelines, the Eisenhower Foundation will grant $50 to the student who conducted and produced the interview.
