Did you know
that in
May of 1997, Paul Eshelman with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) approached Dr. Louie Bustle, the Director of World Missions, Church of the Nazarene, about partnering with them to show the
JESUS
film to lost people around the world. Campus Crusade for Christ would provide the equipment, the 16mm films, and the training on how to effectively use the
JESUS
film. The Church would provide the leadership and workers around the world to show the film, disciple new believers, and start new churches.
Dr. Bustle saw the strategic opportunity such a partnership offered and a historic partnership was forged at the Campus Crusade for Christ Jesus Film Project offices in San Clemente, California in August of 1997. This was the first partnership of its kind using the
JESUS
film. Never before had a denomination committed to make the
JESUS
film a main strategy for evangelism. The agreement was the first step in one of the most effective evangelistic strategies ever undertaken by the Church.
The results of the partnership have been amazing.
The following statistics reflect the ministry results since January 1998:
GOAL RESULT
Evangelistic Contacts 100 million 82,019,732
Decisions for Christ 20 million 16,032,486
Initial Discipleship follow ups 10 million 7,476,532
Preaching Points 100,000 81,728
290
JESUS
film language translations used
139 countries where the
JESUS
film is used
JESUS Film Harvest Partners has 773 JESUS Film teams ministering in 2019.
And now, ya know!

With the start of NYC only months away, we are calling the Church to pray for all that will take place before, during, and after our time in Phoenix. While we value individual prayers, we also recognize the power of corporate prayer, which unites us under one vision for the impact of NYC 2019. We invite you, along with your local church community, to pray the written prayer below with us each day as we anticipate all that God will do to draw the Church toward love.

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
As you are going,
THINK BIG:
Every relationship, every interaction, all inclusive.
And make disciples,
START SMALL:
You. Be one. Be a Christ-like disciple. Re-present Jesus.
Baptizing them, immersing them in Jesus,
GO DEEP:
Pray. Empty yourself. Sacrifice.

For generations, Nazarenes have supported the World Evangelism Fund. Working together, we accomplish so much as the Body of Christ. Become a part of missions work and partner with the Church of the Nazarene to make Christlike disciples in the nations. In the Funding the Mission plan, the World Evangelism Fund is the vehicle through which we deliver the message of hope - and your church drives that mission.

"God says...Think Big, because you can't out think me." The Summit 2019 was enjoyed by nearly 500 of our NWIL District Family. It was an incredible day of worship and learning to be Christlike disciples. Scott and Emily Armstrong were our guest speakers, missionaries from the Dominica Republic. Their enthusiasm was felt throughout the entire day. They presented to children, teens, each auxiliary caucus and addressed all attending during the opening and closing plenary sessions. "God is doing more than we can ask or can imagine."
Dr. Bill Clark was given the Distinguished Service Award for his years of service on the SDMI board as treasurer. He faithfully served for over 20 years. All of those years except for two, he volunteered as a Kids Camp counselor. He is the pastor of Marseilles Church and will continue to volunteer at camp.
Thank you to Ellyn Book, SDMI Chair, Carole Eatock, NMI President and Todd Keller, NYI President for organizing a day that will not be forgotten anytime soon.

Bob Clardie stepped down as Pastor of Lost Lake Community Church in July 2016. He and his wife Pam planted the church in 1998 and served there for 18 years. God did some great things during that time including guiding them through 2 building programs. They leave the church debt free and healthy and praise the Lord for that. More than any financial or material blessings they are both thankful for the privilege of being used by God during that time. They saw many people saved and many new Nazarenes join the church.
Since his retirement he and Pam had been doing some Evangelism work. In October of 2017 he began serving as the Interim Pastor at Grace Community Church of the Nazarene in Colona. He held that position until February of 2019 when the church called him to be their Pastor. He accepted the 2-year call and is now serving as their Pastor. It has been a great experience and a blessing and they are looking forward to all God wants to do in the future.

Church Multiplication Endowment Fund
|
Give a GIFT that doesn't stop Giving!
Would you give $1.00 a month if it never stopped giving, never wore out, never changed its usefulness or purpose and transformed lives?
How many times do we give a gift to someone only to see it discarded at a later date or discover it was never used as intended? Have you ever wanted to give a gift that would never grow old or wear out, that would always be used for good and made a difference for eternity? NOW you can!
Jesus said "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."
Would you partner with your Northwestern Illinois District's vision to plant churches? You might wonder how you can make a difference or even be a part. Everyone can. We need some to plant, we need everyone to pray and we need many to invest.
The Church Multiplication Endowment Fund is designed to reach unreached people living on the NWIL District for Christ. Every dollar given will continue to give in perpetuity. An endowment fund uses the interest from the principle to do kingdom work. Will you help fund this goal?
Currently, our district property funds have been invested in planting 22 new churches these past three years and the district is in need of capital to continue to plant more! We need your help. Presently, there are 36 more potential church plants in various stages of planning which will require additional funding support.
Help us reach our GOAL of planting 300 churches by 2030. We see 300 churches as 3,000 disciplemakers who disciple 15,000 disciples gathering with 30,000 worshippers. Every dollar you give will continue to reach people for Christ your whole lifetime and beyond.
Would you consider a GIFT of $1.00 a month? We are not trying to take money from your local ministry where you give your tithes and offerings. We are asking for many to give a little. Our initial goal is 5,000 giving at least $1.00 a month. Would you be one of those 5,000 making a commitment to create a movement to plant churches that change lives? Here are ways to give:
1. You can give to your local church by marking your check or cash gift "NWIL CM Endowment" and your church treasurer will take it from there.
2. You can also choose to give online if you want to set up one time or reoccurring payments using debit/credit/Electronic Check on the district website at nwilnaz.org/GIVE/ On District Church Planting or direct CM Endowment Giving LINK. Or scan this QR code at the bottom of this article.
3. You can send a check or cash to NWIL District, 3520 Broadway St., Pekin, IL 61554 (please indicate CM Endowment on check memo)
We are also looking for those who might like to make greater kingdom investments!
You can give cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, livestock, grain, or other personal property. Basically, any asset of marketable value can be used to help fund this endowment. There are also charitable gift annuity options that allow you to specify the endowment fund or another ministry of your choice while allowing you to receive income for your lifetime and when you pass, your gift goes to the endowment fund or specified ministry. CLICK HERE to see other ways to model generosity. Gifts can be given in memory or in honor of someone.
Large or small: Why not leave a lasting legacy that lasts more than your lifetime.
For more information or confidential consultation please contact NWIL District Administrator, Jim Book 309-678-2357; NWIL District Treasurer, Ray Barker 309-645-7716; or the Nazarene Foundation directly at

"More Than We Can Imagine" is the theme for the Havana Church of the Nazarene as they look forward to constructing a new building for their church. "We chose this theme because we really believe God is going to do much more than we can imagine with this building project," says Michael Roat, director of the building committee at the church. "When you see God working, you get out of the way and let Him work." These words were spoken by Roat as he addressed the crowd that attended the Havana Church of the Nazarene's Capital Campaign dinner on Sunday, March 17, 2019. The Havana City Center provided the venue for the church to hold the dinner since their current fellowship hall is too small for the event.
A delicious dinner was served to church members and friends as Pastor Jim Buchanan shared how the church decided that God wanted them to construct a new building. The positive energy was palpable as Pastor Buchanan began by sharing the history of the Havana Church of the Nazarene; how it began as a tent that was pitched on Water Street close to where Kahn and Son Company is located. From there a temporary tabernacle was constructed just down the street and housed the congregation until 1940. The current building was built in 1940 and has had multiple additions/renovations since that time. During the last 10 years it has become apparent that more space is needed, especially in the fellowship hall.
