JDRF One Walk
On September 15th Michigan Medicine faculty and staff, along with their friends and families, participated in the JDRF One Walk at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter. Held annually, the walk draws over 2500 participants from the area. Michigan Medicine is a corporate sponsor of the event and has been for many years. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of several department teams and coordination by MDiabetes, the Michigan Medicine team raised over $12,000 this year, in addition to the $15,000 in corporate sponsorship to help fund type 1 diabetes research through JDRF.

Thank you to everyone who participated and raised funds for this important cause!
ADA Tour de Cure
This year, for the first time, Michigan Medicine was a corporate sponsor of the ADA Tour de Cure. Held on September 8 th on Belle Isle in Detroit, participants could cycle, walk or run to help raise funds to support the American Diabetes Association’s mission to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of those affected by diabetes.

Michigan Medicine had two teams participate in this year’s event. Together they raised over $5,000 in addition to the $10,000 in corporate sponsorship. MDiabetes looks forward to continuing to support this event in the future.

Many thanks to all the dedicated participants!
