Bring your friends and grandchildren with your beloved pets.
Bring a photo of a pet (living or passed) for a blessing.
Children may also bring a stuffed animal if they wish.

All animals are welcome and must be securely restrained.
Deacons Children's Food Drive
Many children depend on school lunches and need extra food at home during the summer.

The Deacons respectfully request donations this summer between June 17-July 29th. Food and Monetary donations may be dropped off at church services or any other time during the summer.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make a check out to the Oxford Presbyterian Church with "Children’s Food Drive" in the note field and place it in the donation plate during offering.

The money will be used to purchase food for the Oxford Choice Food Pantry.
According to the Oxford Choice Food Pantry, there is a real need for canned fruit right now. Other needs include: cereal, spaghetti sauce, canned meals (such as Chef Boyardee or Kroger meals) and peanut butter.

Toilet paper, child personal care items like body wash, deodorant, shampoo and hair conditioner are also appreciated.

Special Guests at VBS!
Oxford Presbyterian Church and the churches of the Presbytery's Colombia Partnership Network eagerly await the arrival this week of the MAJUP Youth Praise Band from the Iglesia Presbiteriana de Cartagena, Colombia
MAJUP (Ministerio de Alabanza Juventud Presbiteriana, or
Presbyterian Youth Praise Ministry) is a praise band consisting of
seven youth and two adult leaders from the Cartagena Church. They
have made the focus of their ministry both praising God through lively music in
Spanish and English, and seeking wider awareness of the decades-long conflict
in Colombia and efforts to bring a lasting peace.
For much of July, MAJUP will share their message via a concert tour in congregations throughout the Presbytery as well as part of a week-long (July 15-20) youth camp experience (Camp Paz y Alabanza) that features sharing Spanish language, Hispanic/Latino culture, and the rhythms and powerful message of praise music at Kirkmont Center.

MAJUP will be joining us for VBS on Saturday, July 7th . Following lunch, be inspired by the music and message of MAJUP through a brief concert in the sanctuary of the Memorial Church.

Ripped from the Headlines -- What Can a Presbyterian Do????
There will be no gatherings July 1st and July 8th. The next meeting Ripped from The Headlines meeting will be July 15th. We plan to discuss the idea of standing up, standing for, and upholding one’s own beliefs and morals in these difficult times. How does a Christian stand by their beliefs when so many things are going on to challenge keeping one’s composure, how to discern what is most significant? The meeting will be led by and held at Nancy Moeckel’s home, 3900 Kehr Rd., 3:00-5:00 p.m.

All are welcome whether or not you have attended any meetings in the past. Please consider joining this discussion in a supportive atmosphere where all views are encouraged and accepted.
Handicap Ramp Construction
The Facilities Planning Committee has been working on a ramp for the main entrance to the sanctuary. After a year-long process that included study of every conceivable configuration of a ramp, the Facilities Planning Committee has found a design that is ADA compliant and will integrate with the architecture of the building.

The Facilities Planning Committee is pleased to have the planning steps in this process completed. The Session voted unanimously on 6.18.18 to turn this project over to the Trustees for execution. We hope to start construction this summer.

We look forward to supporting all our members and guests in attending church despite having a physical limitation by including a building structure that will allow every person to enter the sanctuary easily and safely, using a common entrance.

Many thanks to the committee for their long and careful work, and to the many members who made significant contributions to this ramp!

An architectural rendering and features of the construction can be found the Molyneaux lounge.

Summer Time

Summer is when our committee work continues at the convenience of each committee. For the latest information on your committee's meeting, check out the church calendar… https://oxfordpresbychurch.org/calendar/
Fall Rummage Sale

Mark Your Calendars, IN PENCIL.  We, OPW, are planning a Fall Rummage Sale, providing the Seminary is ready and the Creek don't rise. The dates to mark are: October 11, 12 and 13. Stay tuned for more later and start that decluttering now!
Summer Stewardship

Members of the Stewardship and Finance Committee urge all church members to keep their pledge giving up to date. Church offering income tends to lag during the summer vacation period, yet our bills continue at a normal pace. Thank you all.
Thank You!
To: All My Friends in the Oxford Presbyterian Church:

I have been touched by the many cards I've received from you. They definitely have strengthened my spirits and contributed to my healing.

The expression of caring will be with me for a long time - THANK YOU!

Creating a Healthy Oxford Community
Hosting Families for Foreign Students

Dear community of the Presbyterian Church,

I am hosting a foreign exchange program at Miami University this summer (July 14- August 8). The program will bring 20 college students from six different Latin American countries (Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador) to be in Miami for four weeks learning about the United States' institutions. One of the program components is for the participants to spend a weekend with local families. I would like to know if there are any members of the Oxford Presbyterian Church community who would be willing to host a student during the weekend of July 20-22 (afternoon of Friday July 20 until the afternoon of Sunday July 22). The students will return to the dorms on that Sunday. There also will be a small stipend of $100 per student to help with the cost of hosting. If there is any person or family interested in hosting during that weekend of July, please feel free to contact me, Juan Carlos Albarran, at my work email [email protected] . Thanks.
Claiming Time for Spiritual Growth

If you are seeking a resource to create more time for the Lord in your life, pick up a new copy of July-September devotional “These Days” as you enter the sanctuary. These daily devotionals are great tools to create a gracious space of abundant life apart from our culture that rewards hurry and busyness as symbol of importance and achievement.
Your Stewardship Matters
Jesus establishes clearly that the greedy accumulation of things is an attempt by persons to evade dependency on God. The one who greedily hoards possessions in order to establish security for the future lacks the faith that Jesus expects of those who follow Him. Our security, according to Jesus, is in our relationship to God
in whose hands lies our future.
