30 Things About SPAN

Fun Fact #13:

SPAN's Family Resource Specialists (FRSs)  are parents of children with special needs who are  trained  to help other parents at the local level within their county. Under the Family WRAP and SPAN's Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) projects, FRS parents guide families and professionals toward resources at important transitions in their lives. The FRSs are a team of diverse, multilingual staff who reflect the cultural diversity of NJ.

SPAN's Family WRAP: Project Care has been a partnership between the NJ Department of Health's Special Child Health and EI Services and SPAN for  almost 30 years. Over 100,000 diverse families and professionals have received support and guidance from 150 FRSs since the beginning of this wonderful relationship.
SPAN's biggest belief is that you help people best by teaching them how to help themselves.  A donation to SPAN helps us continue these valuable, effective programs that promote self-advocacy and community partnerships .

As always, our deepest thanks to you,
