Parents and Guardians,
I truly hope you and your family are staying healthy through these challenging times.
As I shared last week with Seniors and their parents, I had been holding out hope that school would be resuming on May 4th. The thought of having even a few weeks of relative normalcy with your student was exciting and helped me have a positive attitude about our quarantine. Last weeks announcement to keep schools closed for the remainder of the school year was difficult for me to hear just as I am sure it was for you and your student.
Though not what we had hoped for, we have been planning for the contingency that school would not resume this year. We are finalizing details regarding our end of year activities and I will begin sending these out soon. I will be sharing specifics for Graduation and other Senior Activities this Wednesday with our Senior Parents. We will also have additional information in the coming weeks going out to all parents about things like textbook pickup, athletic locker clean out, and technology return.
Although the way this school year will end is really frustrating, I believe we can create some valuable experiences and incredible memories in the coming weeks. Please be on the lookout for information about how we as a community can encourage our students as a whole, and celebrate our Seniors in particular.
Sincerely,
Chris Mayfield
