What is your job title and what does the position entail?
I am an Application Engineer. I design, build, and program turnkey solutions as well as provide technical support to customers using our products.
How long have you been at ACS?
I started in January of 2017, so just about three years.
What do you like best about working at ACS?
I like how we assist customers from a wide range of industries. I never know what I am going to be working on and that always adds excitement to the day.
Also ACS is a dog friendly environment and I can bring my dog to work with me!
Can you tell us a little about your background and how it helps you in this position?
Before working at ACS I was a quality coordinator at a machine shop that manufactured parts for all kinds of industries. I gained knowledge and skills in machining, inspections, measuring, and project management all of which have came in handy at some point in my time at ACS.
I also got my bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a degree concentration in Engineering Graphics… which gave me a good background in mechanical design as well as some experience with electrical wiring/ instrumentation.
What are some key lessons you have taken from your career thus far?
That I am still learning! Getting my degree was just a door to more learning and I am excited to further my knowledge here at ACS!
Describe some of your hobbies – what do you like to do outside of ACS?
I love sports and outdoors. My main hobbies are hunting, fishing, and watching or playing sports. I am a big fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons and try to go to a few games a year.
What is one thing people might find surprising about you?
Most people are surprised to find out that I am already married. I met my wife and started dating her at 15 and we got married in June of 2017 almost 8 years later!
Do you have any trips planned soon?
My family and I are going out to ski in Colorado next February.
What’s your favorite place in or near Atlanta?
Like I said, I’m a big sports fan so I’d say going to see the Dawgs, Braves or Falcons play. The Battery is close to our office so I make plenty of trips there throughout the year.
