Farewell, Thank You and Good Luck to Deacon Scott
We have been blessed to have Scott with us at St. Mark's during his seminary years. But, as the academic year is coming to a close so to is Scott's time as a student - and as St. Mark's Associate for Community Engagement.
Scott's last Sunday will be May 20th (The Feast of the Pentecost). We will have just one service that day at 9:30 a.m. as we celebrate the sending of the Spirit, the Spirit which will send Scott on to be the Priest-in-Charge at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Woodstock.
To thank him for his ministry among us, St. Mark's is collecting money for a purse to give to him on his last Sunday. If you would like to contribute to the purse, please make checks payable to St. Mark's Episcopal Church (memo: Scott's Purse) and deliver them to St. Mark's no later than Sunday, May 13. If you prefer to make your gift by credit card, you can go to our website, click the Donate Tab and follow the instructions (be sure to indicate in the note that it is for Deacon Scott's purse). Again, the deadline for contributions is Sunday, May 13.
Whether or not you are able to contribute to this purse, we hope you will mark your calendar now for these two dates:

9:30 a.m. Worship with Farewell Reception for Deacon Scott
Saturday, June 16
11:00 a.m. Deacon Scott's Ordination to the Priesthood, St. James Cathedral (65 E. Huron St., Chicago) - a reminder that we are all still connected through our diocese.
A reminder that contributions to this purse are not tax deductible as they are considered gifts to an individual.
