Hello isolated quilters!
Now – really – we have said for years, “if we only had the time”.  Well now we seem to have the time and what we are craving is the fellowship!    I think the whole thing is…..we never really want to do something until we are told we can’t.   Things as simple as buying groceries whenever you want!   I qualify for the High Risk so I actually did go in first thing in the morning….and I discovered that things are so neat and well stocked when the store opens!  I am a Friday-after-work shopper….so it is usually a little topsy-turvy.  Saturday morning and even the tomatoes were all lined up so pretty!
I am sad to say we are going to have to forego the April Gone Quilting as well – staying safe and self-isolating.   In lieu of gathering with our buds, Carol has set up a Facebook Support Group.  If you haven’t been invited to join the group, please send Carol or I a Facebook friend request and we will add you in.  We can share and chat – keep connected even while we are practicing social distancing. It seems so strange to have unlimited time at home – I feel like I should be completely reorganizing everything, right?    If you are finally getting a chance to learn something new, please share!  If you are finishing that 12 year old UFO, please share! If you need help, please share!  If you have alphabetized all your quilting books, please share!   Personally, I have been doing a lot of baking!   And due to that, I started a diet today!
To get all caught up on the Block of the Month challenge, for March I was going to encourage anything  Square in a Square.    And I might as well share that April’s challenge is the  Hour Glass .    Any size, any color, any style…..on your mark, get set, go!   And if you did something amazing with that crazy green rick-rack, let’s see what you came up with!
For those of you that are running out of projects….or interfacing…..or thread…or just need a “fix”, the shop is open by appointment.   Watch our Facebook page as new fabric is coming in each day. New patterns, new books, new samples….new looks.  Just give Leanne a call - happy to help with whatever you need.   Also a quick reminder – Laura has tossed out the 2020 Delaware County Fair Block Challenge.  Pick those up for $5 – show your creative side - the winner gets a $25 gift certificate!
So stay safe, ladies – sew on – keep making masks – working on those UFO’s – until we can say we are Gone Quilting again!
