Are Palm Beach Employees Paid as Well as Their Counterparts?

The town plans to study how other employers in the local job market compensate their employees to see whether Palm Beach is keeping pace. The Town Council said Tuesday it wants to hire an independent consultant to gather information on wages, benefits and retirement pensions paid by competitors in the public and private sector.

An owner of the recently closed Evelyn & Arthur clothing store says plans are in the works to open a new site in Palm Beach.
Fred Weissman, who co-owns the women's apparel shop with his wife Adrianne, said last week they are eyeing another location but can't disclose where because they don't yet have a lease.

Palm Beach residents and visitors alike may have noticed all the seaweed at Midtown Beach. It's sargassum seaweed, a brown algae. The masses of seaweed are on South Florida beaches and all over the Caribbean islands, according to media reports.
