This Sunday is going to be a fun time at Middletown Christian Church. We are

 dedicating 12 children and baptizing two more.  Additionally, two weeks from Sunday we will celebrate our graduating seniors and recognize the  paren ts who helped them through their journey. 

It's exciting to be part of a church

that is committed to helping parents raise their children.  Being a parent is not for timid people who want life to be easy.  No one truly understands what parents are getting themselves into when they bring their first child home. Our parents need all the help and support they can get!

 

I'm preaching a sermon on Sunday about the dan gers of overparenting, shielding them from failure, and giving them trophies they haven't earned. 

The Best Way to Prepare Our Kids is the nice title. The Best Way to Wreck our Kids is the politically incorrect title. I believe it will be relevant for everyone, even if you do not have children. 

I'm going to tell a story about a time that Jesus' parents lost him in Jerusalem. Can you imagine losing the son of God? This story makes me feel somewhat better about our parental mishaps and there have been many. The story is in Luke 2:41-52.
