FOOD PANTRY PIE-BAKING TOMORROW

|
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17th
We will be preparing "home baked" pies for the Dedham Food Pantry's Thanksgiving food distribution.Last year, St. Paul's provided over 40 pies. To help us reach--or break!--that number, join us in baking apple and pumpkin pies
.
We will begin baking at 9:00 AM

Children are also welcome to come and work with their parents on the baking. If you want to help, but can't make it for the Saturday group baking we are also accepting homemade pies. BELLS & WHISTLES TABLE AT THE CHRISTMAS MARKET
|
|
Dear Friends,
It is now November with its Thanksgiving feasting, but, before you know it the date will be Saturday, December 1st, and Bells and Whistles, the costume jewelry booth will be in full swing at St. Paul's Christmas Greens Sale!

This will be our fourth year! We have no expenses so all the money we take in goes directly to benefit others.
Olivia Hurlock, Helen Phinney, Melanie King and I are looking forward to selling what we know will be a fabulous selection of gently used costume jewelry donated by our wonderful St. Paul's Parishioners and friends.
We also need your help in stocking our tiny treasures department, consisting of special, small, decorative tabletop items that you love but really don't have a spot for anymore. Nothing big please as our treasures space is very limited. We'd also be happy to have beautiful silk scarves donated or a very, very fab handbag.
We love all baubles, all sparkle, all types of jewelry, so do look though your collections, and see if there are any pieces that you like, but no longer wear, and can give to us to sell.
Please contact Charlotte Saul soon
at [email protected] or at 781.326.2468 if you would like to donate any jewelry or if you have any questions. If convenient, please drop off your donations at my house, at 54 School Street, Dedham. If I am not at home there is a glassed-in porch on the Worthington St. side of the house where donations can be left. Please include your name so we can contact you. I am also available to pick up any donations. Just send me an Email or call me.
We are most thankful for our donors and buyers for their past generosity. This year we hope to make another good sized contribution to the Fair's proceeds! We will with your kind jewelry donations and purchases.
Please do not deliver any jewelry or other items to the Church as there is absolutely no place to put them!
We can't wait to see what our very generous friends will come up with to help make our Bells and Whistles booth
a
winner
in raising funds to help others have a merrier Christmas.
We always appreciate and are in awe of all your donations and support.
XOXO,
Helen Phinney,
Olivia Hurlock,
Melanie King

REFUGEE FAMILY UPDATE
|
|
Do you know of job possibilities for our Refugee Family?
Several members of our refugee family are ready to begin
looking for jobs. If you know of a position (retail, food service, etc.) members of the Refugee Committee would like to know. One of our family members has experience with cars, another has experience with tailoring. However, it is important that they simply get a job (any job) to begin the process of assimilation, and to earn money for their family. They all have some facility with the English language. If you know of anything, please contact
Mary Dunlavey at
[email protected] or
Pat Ferrone at
[email protected] .

ST. PAUL'S BOOK CLUB
|
|
St. Paul's Book Club meets Wednesday, December 5th
7:00 p.m. in the Rectory
Join us for Yankee Book Swap
Bring a wrapped used or new book of your choice to swap. There will be some fun holiday activities as well. We will not be reading an assigned book for our December meeting, however...
Our next book will be : Lincoln in the Bardo
by George Saunders,
which we will discuss at our January 9th meeting, same time, same place
February 1862. The Civil War rages while President Lincoln's beloved eleven-year-old son is gravely ill. In a matter of days, Willie dies and is laid to rest in a Georgetown cemetery. Newspapers report that a grief-stricken Lincoln returns to the crypt several times alone to hold his boy's body. From that seed of historical truth, George Saunders spins an unforgettable story of familial love and loss that breaks free of its realistic, historical framework into a thrilling, supernatural realm both hilarious and terrifying. Willie Lincoln finds himself in a strange purgatory -- called, in the Tibetan tradition, the bardo.
