Bright Spots in Sharing Data for Community Health

DASH released a series of  bright spot profiles highlighting specific aspects of grantee projects that made them successful in building multi-sector data sharing collaborations to improve health.
Public Health Innovation Playbook

In partnership with the Alliance for Innovation, PHNCI has launched the Public Health Innovation Playbook, an interactive website designed to help health organizations succeed in their innovation journeys. The Playbook is divided into five sections with helpful tools and exercises reflecting critical elements of the Innovation Framework. 


Understanding the Stories Behind the Data: Engaging Residents in Community Health Planning

A recent All In webinar featured presenters from two communities - Seattle, WA and Garrett County, MD - that developed innovative processes to engage residents in providing valuable data to inform community health improvement planning. We summarized key takeaways that rose to the top as they shared their barriers and opportunities.

Chicago's Childhood Lead Paint Data Sharing Project Wins State and Local Innovation Prize

The Milbank Memorial Fund and AcademyHealth announced Chicago's Childhood Lead Paint Data Sharing Project, a DASH awardee, as the winner of a prize recognizing state and local efforts to use data to improve population health.


Healthy Homes Des Moines Receives National Recognition

Healthy Homes Des Moines, a BUILD awardee, received an award for pro bono technical assistance from the nonprofit Green & Healthy Homes Initiative, which works to address the link between unhealthy housing and unhealthy children. 


Baltimore Launches Campaign to Stop the Elderly from Falling

Baltimore officials announced a citywide initiative aimed at curbing the number of injuries from falls.The B'FRIEND project, a  DASH awardee, plays an integral role in the new strategy by mapping where falls occur to help target prevention efforts.

Building a Culture of Health in Cape May County

With funding from NJHI, the Cape Regional Wellness Alliance is integrating data correlating with childhood trauma from medical, education and law enforcement partners to implement a comprehensive community education campaign.


Healing South Stockton

The Healing South Stockton Accountable Community for Health, funded by CACHI, coordinates multiple sectors to implement interventions to build stronger, accessible, culturally-competent support systems that address the underlying causes of trauma.

  • AARP Communities Challenge: Due May 16 - AARP is providing grant funding for small "quick-action" projects to improve housing, transportation, public spaces, and other elements that can help communities become more livable for all ages.  
  • TIAA Difference Maker 100: Due June 12 - TIAA is recognizing 100 people in nonprofits who are making a difference in their communities. Tell your story and share a picture or video. Winners will receive $10,000 for their nonprofit.
