Roundabout Construction & Impact on RHS Entrances
Construction of the roundabout on M Highway near the north entrance of Republic High School has begun. MoDOT has informed the district that the current north entrance of RHS is in the way of construction. Therefore, a temporary north entrance to RHS will open to traffic within the next week, closing the current entrance. The current traffic flow at RHS will not be impacted by this as essentially the north entrance is just being shifted slightly to the east out of the way of construction.

The temporary entrance will be constructed of well-compacted rock/gravel that will withstand traffic, including loaded school buses. The approach pavement from M Highway onto the temporary entrance will be paved with asphalt. MoDOT and the City of Republic will share in the cost of the temporary entrance.

Once the regular school year is over in May, the temporary entrance will be removed and all traffic entering and leaving the high school will have to use the west entrance off of ZZ Highway until the roundabout is completed prior to the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year in August. This means all summer school traffic will need to use the west entrance off of ZZ Highway. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation!
