Social Witness Process at General Assembly: Throughout our congregational conversations this Spring, questions were asked about how change is affected at the UUA. Here is one way, through the Process of Social Witness, individuals, groups and congregations can submit proposals that, if selected, may go on to be studied within the entire UUA community. This year, there are two proposals for Congregational/Study Action Issues (CSAIs):
  • Undoing Intersectional White Supremacy, and;
  • Dismantling Intersectional Oppression.
To read them, click   here. Our UUCF Delegates will be voting on these CSAIs. And, the UUA is sending us '  alerts' so we better understand the process and our opportunities to know more before we vote.

Updates on previous CSAIs will be given at the Business Meetings which are live-streamed. You can watch each Business Meeting live online through out the General Assembly by going to  www.uua.org/ga and click on 'livestream'.

General Announcements

UUA Statement on Immigrant Detention: The Unitarian Universalist Association condemns the Trump administration's appalling assault on vulnerable families seeking asylum in the United States. Compounding this travesty is the Trump administration's use of religion to justify separating families. This is nothing short of religious malpractice. Read our full statement: https://www.uua.org/pressroom/press-releases/unitarian-universalist-association-condemns-family-separation-us/mexico

Thanks to all our Garden Helpers:  A very gracious thank you to HollyShifrin, Diane Chong, Bonnie Sydnor, and Autumn Szabo for helping plant donated items to UUCF gardens areas. Thank you also to Sea Raven for Iris contributions, and Meg Menke for her foliage which we planted. Thank you RIck for all the Daylillies and digging holes for us!!

New Storage Shed (Whoopee!!) : from our Facilities Manager, Rick Anderson: We have acquired a new (additional) storage shed. Any UUCF Group or Committee  that wishes to store items in the new shed should contact  Rick ( [email protected] ) to discuss your storage needs. Rick will be subdividing the shed with designated storage areas and will need to plan accordingly.  Please note that the shed is not climate controlled, but will be dry; items that are susceptible to bugs or rodents must be stored in labeled and sealed plastic bins supplied by each group.

Come hygge with me: Hygge literally only requires a conscious appreciation, a certain slowness, and the ability to not just be present - but recognize and enjoy the present." This congregation is where I feel most at home. I'd like to set up a time and place where anyone, with and without kids, and just hang out together. No plan, no agenda. Have a game, movie, or snack you want to share? Great! Bring it. No, that's also great! There are no expectations other than being together. No stress, just us.
