and Relationships

Here is an update of what is happening at
House of Prayer this week!
Worship This Sunday!
A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?" He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm.  Mark 4:37-39

The story of Jesus calming the storm underscores two fundamental truths: there storms in life and Jesus is present. No one is exempt from hardship or suffering. It may be mysterious about why things happen as they do and what God's role is, but storms happen. This may be personal health, finances or could mean human suffering and oppression. No one gets through life without experiencing storms. The good news is Jesus is with us and ultimately will deliver us from our suffering. In the midst of the storms of life we are given the opportunity to rely upon ourselves or seek God. As we learn to cry out to God in our distress, we learn to grow in faith and trust. This faith allows us to endure hardship and suffering in a way that conveys God's presence to the world. Join us Sunday as we learn to live in faith not fear!
Outdoor Worship This Sunday
Don't miss it! On June 24th we will have our annual outdoor worship service on the Chicago Avenue lawn at 10:00am, combining both services into one fabulous extravaganza! Join us for this festive service and for the indoor picnic afterward.
Blessings on Luther Park
This past Sunday we blessed Will & Haley as they left to go to Luther Park Bible Camp for the week. Please keep them, the camp staff, and all other campers in your prayers. May they have a fun and exciting time where they encounter God in powerful ways and come back renewed in their faith!

Houston, We Have a Gathering
On June 26th, several high schoolers and their adult leaders will leave for Houston to attend the ELCA National Youth Gathering with 30,000+ other high schoolers from around the country! Please pray for safe travels, open hearts, strengthened relationships, and faith breakthroughs as they explore how faith can truly change everything. Stories, insights, and more will be shared after they return on July 2nd!
4th of July Parade
Join the House of Prayer group and march in the Richfield 4th of July Parade! This is a great chance to celebrate with the community and spread the word about what we're doing together. Anyone who marches with us will get a free House of Prayer shirt (new design since last year's parade). You can sign up on the attendance card in worship or by contacting Ben Whalen ( [email protected] or 612-500-9523).
