This Week in Largo
City Facilities Closed on Fourth of July
Largo facilities including City Hall, Largo Public Library, Central Park Performing Arts Center, Community Center, Highland Recreation and Southwest Recreation will be be closed on Wednesday, July 4. 

Trash & Recycling Collection
There will not be any changes to the residential or commercial garbage and recycling schedules.  View the holiday schedule.

State of Florida Categorical Exclusion Notice
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) has determined that the City of Largo's Biological Treatment Improvements project involving improvements to the City's wastewater reclamation facility are not expected to generate controversy over potential environmental effects. FDEP has posted a 30 day Florida Categorical Exclusion Notice in the Florida Administrative Register Volume 44, Number 113, June 11, 2018. FDEP will consider public comments about the environmental impacts of the proposed project that are postmarked or delivered at the address below within 30 days of the notice. Largo Connects: Volunteer Fair
Would you like to get more involved in your community? Largo Connects may be the perfect opportunity for you. This Volunteer Fair will bring members of the community together to meet some of the many organizations who welcome the time and energy of volunteers.

On July 7, from 10am through 2pm, you can visit Largo Public Library to discover just the right volunteer organization for you. Largo Connects is free and open to the public.

From neighborhood centers to Hospice, Habitat for Humanity to the   Narrows Environmental Education Center, you're sure to find the fit that's right for you!

Shredfest Is Right Around the Corner!
Join the City of Largo for our next 2018 ShredFest event. These free events are held from 9am-12pm at the Starkey Road Recycling Center (1551 Starkey Road) and will be on the following dates:
  • Saturday, July 21
  • Saturday, October 20
These easy, drive-through events allow residents to bring up to five boxes of documents for free and secure on-site shredding and recycling. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips or rubber bands and SOShred will be on site to assist the process. 

The Starkey Road Recycling Center is also a 24-hour facility where residents can drop off their mixed recycling at no-cost and pick up free, recycled mulch all year-round.
