Dear Northland Families,
We are pleased to announce that Northland Christian School recently closed on the purchase of the Wadi Petroleum Building, located on the east border of Northland's secondary campus at 4355 Sylvanfield Drive. The purchase of this building was a strategic investment in Northland's future that will allow us to consolidate Northland's campuses, continue offering the strong academic and extracurricular programs for which Northland is known, and ensure that we are poised for future growth.
The new building will be renovated to create dormitory space to house international students, offer more classrooms, and allow Northland to move the location of its administrative offices, freeing space in Building 1 for additional classrooms. With the purchase of this building and renovations to Northland's current secondary campus, Northland's preschool and elementary school can now be consolidated on one campus on the main school property.
We are expecting to occupy the Wadi Building by the end of 2018, with the goal of moving the preschool and elementary school to the property by the 2019-2020 school year.
"This strategic acquisition is an answer to prayer and brings us one step closer to creating a single, unified Northland community," said David Pruett, Northland Christian's Head of School. "Northland's staff and families will benefit greatly from the closeness that a single campus allows. Along with the nine acres already available to us, the Wadi Building property also prepares us for future growth. We are looking forward to all the exciting opportunities this purchase will bring to the school."
We are grateful for God's blessing and provision as we prayerfully take these next steps, and we will keep the Northland Family updated over the next several months with additional details about the timing and transitions, which will not impact the start of school or other scheduled school activities.
