Minnesota Association for Volunteer Engagement Leadership Conference 2018
June 6 - 8, 2018 in St. Paul Minnesota
 
The 'Next Steps & Beyond' conference will provide volunteer engagement professionals with the opportunity to learn from leaders and consultants in the sector with breakout track topics like professional development, best practices, and current trends while listening to general sessions about action planning and promoting job equity for all volunteer engagement professionals. For CVNA members only!
The CVNA and the Leighty Fund of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa are providing scholarships (each up to a min. of $500) to attend the  2018 Volunteer Engagement Leadership: Next Steps and Beyond Conference. in St. Paul.  The scholarship funds can be used for travel, registration and/or hotel.  
  
In addition, upon return from the Summit, the Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley will convene attendees for a local summit to share tools, techniques, and information from the conference in hopes to further the development of volunteer engagement resources.
 
Funds will be awarded to organizations that can best demonstrate their desire and ability to improve the use of volunteers in their organization and the organization's interest in helping the Cedar Valley improve volunteer development.  

Please email all requests to  Holly Dusenbery by May 4, 2018 for review. Awarded recipients will be contacted by Holly once requests have been approved by committee.

at for Humanity).  A lot of learning, networking and fun made this CVNA a HUGE success!  

Community Events

The 9th annual Cedar Bend Humane Society Furry 5K Run/Walk will be Sunday, May 20, 2018, at 7:30 a.m. at Big Woods Lake, South Shelter, Cedar Falls, Iowa. This event is open to all animal lovers and their K-9 companions. Last year 200 people participated.

Don't have a dog? Walk a shelter dog! 
There is a limited number of dogs available. Participants walking a shelter 
dog must be 16 years old. If younger, walkers must be accompanied by an adult at all times. One shelter dog per family. Available CBHS dogs will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis on race day [read more...]

Help Needed

We seek your participation in a research study entitled "Non-profit Leader's Risk-Taking Propensity & Managerial Leadership Styles."

Nonprofit leaders, such as you and your colleagues, play a very important role in the success of our Midwest communities. Today, we are reaching out to you to ask if you or other administrators from your organization in a leadership position would be willing to participate in this important study. Knowledge gained from this study will assist present and future nonprofits in gaining information regarding managerial leadership to better utilize resources and create a greater impact on the communities with in which nonprofits serve.


We want to understand how leaders like you effect the performance of your organization. We are writing to request your participation in this research by completing a short survey.

UNI courses in workplace communication during the fall 2018 semester are in need of individual and organizational clients who wish to have print and digital publications created, e.g., newsletters, brochures, flyers, proposals, report documents, websites and exhibition storyboards.
