Youth Sunday, May 20th

Our High School Youth will be leading worship on Sunday, May 20th at both the 9:15 and 11:15 services. 

 

Don't miss this annual tradition--and usually one of the best worship services of the year. 
RE Teacher Recruitment
Currently, we are recruiting Religious Education teachers for the 2018-2019 church year.

What is the commitment?
We like to staff our teaching teams with a minimum of four volunteers.  This ensures that teacher leads class only once a month and assists once a month. Teachers are off two Sundays a month to attend service. Substitutes are available when needed, as well.
 
Can Non-parents volunteer?
Yes!  We welcome the involvement of our young adults and other congregations who do not have children in the program. 
 
What do I have to do to prepare?
You will receive training and a well-planned curriculum. For the one Sunday a month you lead class, you will need to familiarize yourself with the lesson.  If specific materials are needed (art projects, handouts), they will be ready and in your classroom on Sunday morning.

Annual Meeting Childcare
We will be providing childcare for the Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 3rd.  Please RSVP to LeeAnn to register.

RE Fair this Sunday

This coming Sunday, May 7 there will be an RE Fair in Fellowship  Hall.  Be sure and visit the stations on Sunday and hear about all the great stuff our kids learned about this past year.   
Summer Sundays at UUCA
Yes! We offer Religious Education in the summer.

Starting Sunday, June 3 we will be offering our summer RE program. During this time we offer three different RE classes--
  • 3-6 years--Story and Play Time
  • 2nd -5th grade--Principles and Activities
  • 6th grade and older--Youth Group

All classes meet downstairs; just look for the signs.  During the summer session, we hold one worship service at 10:15.  Families start together in the Sanctuary as usual. 
 
Camps
There is still time to register for camps held here at UUCA

RE End Time
Religious Education families please note that our RE classes are an hour long, ending on the half hour.  If service ends before this time we ask that families join our community in Fellowship Hall for coffee and conversation until the 10:30/12:30 pick up time. 
 
Our lessons are carefully planned and timed. Our teachers need this full hour to build community with our kids and complete the day's lesson and activities.  We appreciate your help and cooperation.
