Our amazing Lenten Lunch volunteers have fed literally HUNDREDS of people in the past few weeks!! We so appreciate their help and all the "loaves and fishes" moments they encountered in the kitchen, making sure we were able to provide for all of our guests.

Seeking Altar Guild Members!
Some of the holiest work in the church is done by members of the Altar Guild, a volunteer group whose ministry is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. The Altar Guild literally sets the table for God. St. Paul's is in desperate need for some new people to do this cherished and important work. Feeling called? Contact Molly at

"Looking may only be a one-way visual sweep. Seeing goes deeper. Seeing starts with a closer look, but it may then move beyond sight. Seeing can be a mental, emotional, and spiritual response to what is seen. This kind of seeing involves some connection with what is seen. What have you seen -- truly seen -- lately?"

Memorial Flowers + Special Music for Easter
This Eastertide, please contribute to the Easter flowers and decorations in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone.
Join us in celebrating and supporting our amazing music ministry at St. Paul's. This dedicated gift will be used to enhance the music for our Holy Week and Easter worship with additional instrumentalists and support of our wonderful choir.
You can make your offering online at www.stpaulsrva.org/giving or send a check to the church office that includes the name of the person(s) for whom the gift is given and also the name of the person making the donation, with Easter decorations in memo.
Please make your contribution by Monday, April 15th if you would like your gift recognized in the Easter bulletin.

Creation Care + Environmental Stewardship
Beginning
Sunday, April 28,
we will be hosting a faith formation series that is designed to provide a space for members of our community to explore the intersection between creation care and our call as Christians. This series will provide an opportunity to explore ways to be mindful of environmental stewardship. Discussion will be led by staff as well as community partners.

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt is Back...
Will You Help Us Fill the Eggs?
The Easter Egg hunt is coming up again! It will be at Capitol Square following our 10 a.m. worship service.
We need your help - there are bags containing
empty eggs that need filling and then to be returned. Please no items containing nuts! Just candy and small toys that will fit in the egg.

We are also looking for HELPERS
for the Easter Egg Hunt...
The Annual Easter Egg hunt will directly follow the 10:00 a.m. Easter Service (April 21st)!
We need help hiding the eggs and greeting our guests on that day. Helpers will slip out of church after communion and head towards the Capitol Grounds.

Through art, music, games, and visitors from various countries, children kindergarten - 8th grade will learn to build a culture of peace.
We're also looking for
volunteers
to serve as teachers and guides. Student volunteers (9th grade and up) can earn Community Service hours!

WANTED: Emmaus Volunteers!
The Emmaus Lunch Ministry needs YOU! We are looking for folks to give some of their time on Thursdays. We need people to help
serve lunches, and to come and
socialize with our guests. This is a very important part of the Emmaus Ministry!
Many of these folks fall into the category of the "invisible" members of society. Our Emmaus Ministry is here to make sure everyone gets a warm welcome as well as a warm meal.

Creation Care Faith Formation series, we will be conducting an intergenerational cemetery cleanup at East End cemetery on
May 11th at 9am! Please join us and help clear debris and overgrown brush ... and uncover some hidden history!

Come Support HRI on
Civil War & Emancipation Day, This Saturday, April 6th!
 History and Reconciliation Initiative will be at the American Civil War Museum's Civil War and Emancipation Day event on
Saturday, April 6. In particular, join us to commemorate
the 150th anniversary of the public education system in Virginia.
People of all ages can explore the past and present through hands-on activities, living history, and performances featuring a wide selection of community partners from Greater Richmond. This event is free, unless otherwise noted!

The Annual Parish Retreat is Coming Up!
 Each year, our parish embarks on a retreat to
Shrine Mont
, an Episcopal retreat center tucked in the Shenandoah Valley that is home to the Cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. Our parish retreat this year runs from Friday, May 31st-Sunday, June 2nd.
Registration opens
Tuesday, April 9th and closes
Wednesday, May 8th.
Our theme is
"We are the Church: These are Our Stories." This weekend retreat provides us with an opportunity to learn one another's stories and make new memories with one another at Shrine Mont. We will share meals with one another, worship in the mountains, socialize at night with tons of snacks, eat S'mores around a campfire, engage in workshops, share our talents in the talent show, and much more.
We will have a registration table in the gathering area on Sunday mornings from
9:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. and following the 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist on Sundays
April 14th, 21st, 28th, and
May 5th. Registration forms will be available as well as committee members who can answer any questions that you may have!

We pray for the Spirit of the Resurrection in Metropolitan Richmond: For a spirit of hope, of possibility, of eternal life, and of commitment to the redeeming power of God who brings new life out of death to people and communities.
We pray for all the Baptized in their daily work, especially those of our congregation and community who are in the Armed Services including soldiers especially those in harm's way, administrators, suppliers and support staff.
We pray for those who are ill: for Olin Hyde; James Hess, husband of Erin; Tracy Walker; Drew Findley; Suzanne Spooner-Munch, and Juliet Canada, friend of Eleanor Burt. We also pray for those who are no longer with us: for Geneva Geurin, aunt of Keli Cooper; Karen Bennett, mother of Jonathan Bennett, and Elizabeth Hess, mother of James Hess.
Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to your never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come, knowing that you are doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We would also like to extend a special prayer for the St. Paul's Search Committee:
Almighty God, look graciously on the people of St. Paul's. Be with us and lead us as we seek the next rector for our church. We ask your direction and guidance for those who shall choose our new spirtual leader; that we may receive an upright and faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries, breaking down the walls that separate us from our neighbors, uniting us in bonds of love, and working through our struggle and confusion to seek reconciliation in Richmond and the world. Grant us perception, faithfulness and joy, so that we may hear your voice in all our deliberations; that in our diversity we may be all of one heart & soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity. Grant us also the desire and the ability to truly hear each other and those who have entrusted us with this process. Give us courage to respond and act as you lead us. Come Holy Spirit.
We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
