Fair Housing Month

NEW!

April is Fair Housing month.

This year, your SAR Fair Housing sub-committee partners with the Black Lens newspaper to create a special insert celebrating the Fair Housing Act in its 50th year.

Courtesy Johnson Presidential Library

President Lyndon Johnson signs the Civil Rights Act of 1968 on April 11, 1968 (pictured above).

The Act prohibits discrimination concerning the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on race, religion, national origin, sex, (and as amended) handicap and family status. Title VIII of the Act is also known as the Fair Housing Act (of 1968).

Last year, NAR kicked off a year-long celebration of the act at its 50th anniversary.

This year, your SAR Fair Housing sub-committee, chaired by member Britney Inglis, is proud to share a special insert to the Black Lens newspaper available now at your SAR - pick up a bundle to stock your office and share with your clients!

The committee thanks Black Lens Editor and Publisher Sandy Williams for her generous assistance in building this valuable addition to the local conversation on Fair Housing - be sure to look for the full-page, full-color ad supporting the SAR's commitment to Fair Housing!
