Hopes of an Incoming Hoya

Senior student, J. Martin Peralta, has had a dream of attending Georgetown University for as long as he can remember. He submitted an article the the Hoya Newspaper and was pleasantly surprised.

" I was really surprised that the committee followed through with the publication of it since it is not common practice for non-students to submit pieces. I learned a lot during the week-long process of editing and discussing changes, and was even encouraged to apply for a position in The Hoya during the Fall!"

Class of 2018 Graduation - May 26th, 2018

New Federal Tax Law Creates Opportunity for S-Corp's and most LLC's

The new Federal tax law has capped the SALT (State and Local Tax) deduction to $10,000. This means that Arizona taxpayers that itemize on their Federal 1040 form for 2018 may no longer be able to itemize the full amount of this SALT deduction as they had previously. Making a dollar-for-dollar 2018 Corporate Tax Credit contribution will be necessary if your shareholders want to realize the highest potential itemized deduction.

This amazing opportunity is available for S-Corps and LLCs that file as an S-Corp (on the 1120S Form with your K-1). Your shareholders will be taking their Individual State tax liability out of the SALT deduction and putting it into the Charitable Contribution deduction resulting in a HUGE savings in Federal taxes owed and a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your State taxes! As a Corporate donor, you can still recommend San Miguel High School.

Corporate tax credit applications are due to the Arizona Department of Revenue on July 1st. For more information contact Juan F. Ibarra at (520)294-6403 or at ibarrajf@sanmiguelhigh.org.
Thank you Catholic Foundation!

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson generously awarded San Miguel High School with a $15,000 grant to purchase a wheelchair accessible van. Our vans are a critical component in getting our students to and from their corporate internships every day and are also utilized for extracurricular activities.

For the first time in the school’s history, we have a need for a wheelchair accessible van. Our students live by the Lasallian Core Principles and we are making sure that we honor the principle of “Inclusive Community.” At San Miguel, we celebrate diversity and welcome all members of our community the opportunity to a college preparatory education and the chance to develop to their fullest potential. Thank you Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson for your support and belief in our school and our students!
"Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us."
