The Burlington RAGBRAI Housing committee is looking for local residents interested in hosting RAGBRAI riders in their home for the evening of Friday, July 26. Hosts are only expected to provide a place for riders to rest their heads for the night. This space can either be provided inside or outside. Local housing hosts are not required to entertain guests or provide them with amenities. Hosts are not required to transport or feed the riders. Downtown Open 4 Business Competition
With Main Street Iowa and the Iowa Economic Development Authority, DPI presents the Open 4 Business competition for a for-profit business locating in downtown Burlington. Three chosen local applicants will pitch their business concepts to DPI, with the winner competing to be a semifinalist in June for a chance at $8,000. Five finalists will present their ideas in a statewide contest in August for an additional $20,000 in funding.
