A Word from the President
Count Me in KC. Does that phrase ring a bell? Probably not, but hopefully it will soon. It's the tagline that will be used throughout the KC metro area to promote the 2020 Census.

The Census - which occurs every 10 years - will happen next year. Why is that important? Because data from the Census is used to distribute federal funds (in Wyandotte County that's currently about $15 million annually) and determine Congressional Districts. Perhaps just as importantly, this data is used by business and industry to decide where they might start a business or expand into our area.

The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) is spearheading a metro-area effort to get a "complete count" of our residents in 2020 and is working now to engage organizations, municipalities and businesses in this work. If you or your organization want to be involved please email the KCK Women's Chamber, and we'll forward your email along to MARC. Count me in, because my organization is already committed to help.
