Reminders for New Students and Families
Orientation is right around the corner! Be sure your student has all of their financial aid in order before attending orientation by checking their WMU email and GoWMU account daily. And don't forget to
have final high school transcripts sent to WMU.

On May 18, students planning to live on campus will receive notification with an assigned date to log into the housing system and choose their room. This date is based on when the housing contract was completed.  
Summer Commencement - June 23
Two commencement ceremonies will be held in Miller Auditorium as follows: 
 
9 a.m. Haworth College of Business
           College of Engineering and Applied Sciences
           College of Health and Human Services
           College of Fine Arts

Noon   College of Arts and Sciences
            College of Aviation
            Education and Human Development
            Extended University Programs 
 
Honor your new graduate with a commencement program   tribute  or a commemorative brick...or both! Deadline to order is May 23.   

Join our WMU family for the third annual WMU Night at Comerica Park in downtown Detroit on June 27, 2018.

The Detroit Tigers will take on the Oakland Athletics in an evening home game, with first pitch at 7:10 p.m. ET. All WMU fans are encouraged to attend to show a strong Bronco presence and are encouraged to wear Bronco gear.  Let's pack the stadium!

Family Weekend and Homecoming 2018


Save the dates of October 5-7 for WMU's 2018 Family Weekend and Homecoming. The theme this year is FOREVER GOLD.

Highlights of this special weekend include:
  • Pre-football game tailgate event
  • Bronco football vs. Eastern Michigan
  • Sunday Brunch in the Valley Dining Center
  • Access to the Student Rec Center with your MyWMU Concierge Card
  • And much more!
Information will be available on the Family Engagement website later in May and updated throughout the summer. In the meantime, we encourage you to make your hotel reservations.

The official Game Day t-shirts will be available starting with New Student Orientation on May 31! These shirts, sold in the WMU Bookstore and online, support the Invisible Need Project Student Emergency Relief Fund.
