Southwest Strong Fire Relief Business Microloan is Now Available from First Southwest Community Fund
The weekend's rain brought much needed relief to our area, and we are all very grateful for this, but the many businesses that have been evacuated, on pre-evacuated, effected by 550's closure and the forest's closures are still in need of help as tourism season continues to be affected here in Durango and in our surrounding towns.

First Southwest Community Fund, a 501c3 nonprofit, has put together the  #SouthwestStrong  Fire Relief Business Microloan, a low-interest, fixed-rate microloan, for Southwestern Colorado businesses (concentrated primarily in La Plata, San Juan, Archuleta, and Montezuma counties) impacted by the fire's evacuations, pre-evacuations and closures.

Applications are open immediately!

If you do not qualify for the Southwest Strong Fire Relief Business Microloan, another great resource for financial assistance is Region 9 Economic Development District.

All 5 counties of Southwest Colorado are eligible for SBA Disaster Loans due to Drought
The SBA is currently offering disaster assistance loans to Colorado Small Businesses that have been impacted by the drought. Unfortunately, the SBA is not offering disaster assistance loans at this time to Colorado Small Businesses that have been impacted by the fire. Be on the look out for fire disaster financial assistance in the near future.

Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado
Region 9 is another great resource for business microloans. Region 9 has waived the monthly payment and interest for all our loan clients under evacuation or directly impacted such as our Silverton businesses. They will be addressing impacts of the Forest closure to additional loan clients in the next month.
