Abhishek Mogili, Political Science and Biology undergraduate student, was recently featured in News@Northeastern for his co-op work in the emergency room of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Achievements and Awards 

Jessica Lynch-Foust and Kelsey Taeckens, CSSH undergraduates,
are this year's CSSH Outstanding Co-op Winners.

Nolan Kittas (COS/CSSH '16) and Aja Watkins (CSSH '17)

Catalina Herrera Almanza , Assistant Professor of Economics and International Affairs, is the author of two forthcoming articles: "Curse of the Mummy-ji: The Influence of Mothers-in-Law in India" in the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and "Mitigation of Long-Term Human Capital Losses from Natural Disasters: Evidence from the Philippines" in the World Bank Economic Review.

A number of CSSH students were recognized as RISE award winners during this week's virtual project display and judging events. Winners include:
Mika Morikawa, Administrative Officer, Department of Cultures, Societies, and Global Studies, also was named a RISE awardee for her poster in the Social Sciences, Business, and Law category for Cultural Awareness in the Social Work World.

Thomas Vicino , Associate Dean of Graduate Studies , was elected chair of the governing board and president of the Urban Affairs Association.

With programs across the college,  The Department of Cultures, Societies, & Global Studies  will launch a new major: History, Culture & Law. 

The Department of English has  created a new combined major in Writing.

Jennie Stephens, Director of the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, Laura Kuhl, Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, and Gloria Schmitz, PhD student in Public Policy, will be working with University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez researchers on a new collaborative project, "Power in Puerto Rico: Sociotechnical Imaginaries, Infrastructure Publics, and Electricity," that is supported with a half-million-dollar grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF)'s Science, Technology and Society Program.
