Last fall Hooks & Needles made winter hats, mittens and scarves for the kids who live in orphanages located in the Ukraine. Below you can read an excerpt from the thank you letter that Hooks & Needles received...
"The children enjoyed being out of the orphanage and had many great adventures. They were able to go to a movie and to the petting zoo. Two things that most had not done before. They also learned about God's love for them, had amazing adventures, and displayed their creativity in games and crafts.
They loved receiving new hats, mittens, and scarves. One funny thing is that one boy was quite upset that he didn't get a pair of gloves with the pom poms. There was one pair left and he was sooooo happy to receive them. 🙂
I also visited older children in another Ukrainian city. They also lived in an orphanage. They were also happy to receive your gifts.
Your talents blessed many children in these orphanages. There were some left and they will be handed out to children that are in need that are in orphanages or that come to their center for children from troubled homes."
A big THANK YOU to the Hooks & Needles group for Loving God and Loving Others!

Retreat Blessing Bags
Team Zebra is eagerly planning for our upcoming Mission trip to Kenya in May and we need your help! You can support and participate in this amazing Kenya adventure by providing gift items that will be given to all women participating in the AIM Retreat. We anticipate 120 missionaries will be attending, so we would like to bless these women with an abundance of items that are difficult to obtain in Africa.
We currently are in need of more: Flour-sack Kitchen towels, Small Travel-Size hand lotions, Women's Socks (any type), Mio Water Drops and Crystal Light.
Please email
Leslie Pepping
if you would like to receive a list of items through email or pick up a hard copy of the list in the Valley Church office.
A collection box* will be setup in the church office for your donations.
We are overwhelmed with your response to this request and we, Team Zebra, thank you so much for blessing the women who will be attending this retreat in Kenya!
Please note: *If you order items from Amazon or another provider, please send the items directly to Attn: Debi Lydic, Valley Church,
4343 Fuller Road, West Des Moines, IA 50265

ministry.
Even if you do not sew,
we could use
your assistance
in
setting up on Fridays (day before meeting), and on Saturdays: cutting fabric, layout, pinning, ironing, praying over each quilt and clean up after meeting.
If
