Please note that the library is now closed on Sundays. Our Summer Saturday hours will begin on Saturday, June 23. The library will be open on Saturdays in the Summer from  9:30am to 1:00pm.
Children's Programs for June
The Children's Summer Reading Program kicks off on Saturday, June 23! Children in K-6th grade can sign up for the Reading Program on our website or by visiting the library. Make sure you visit the library every week to log your reading and get a prize! Children who are not yet in kindergarten can sign up for our year-round 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.
Creative Movement with Eastern CT Ballet
Thursday, June 21 at 10:30am
For ages 3 to 5

T he Eastern Connecticut Ballet is hosting a monthly 
Creative Movement program for children 3 to 5 years old.  This  45 minute program is an  introduction to  creative 
movement.  During class we will read a  story and  then do 
35 minutes of movement around the theme.  Children must 
sign up for this program, space is limited.  To register call the

Tech Tuesday
Tuesday, June 26 at 1:30pm
3rd - 6th graders

Children in 3rd - 6th grade can sign up for this special technology program! Each month we will explore something different. Children must sign up for each month, space is limited. You can sign up here!
Silly Song Sing-a-Long
Saturday, June 23 at 10:30am

Families with children of all ages are invited to come sing, dance and jump along to popular children's classics with Edward Leonard! He will have guitars, drums and a bag full of musical surprises.
Summer Meal Program
Monday - Friday
1:00pm - 1:30pm
Children birth to 18 years old
Starting June 25

Children 18 and younger can visit the library every Monday - Friday between 1:00pm and 1:30pm to get a free, nutritious meal, sponsored by New London Public Schools. The meals will be served and must be eaten in the Children's Room. On Wednesdays the meals will be served in the Community Room during Movie & Munchies.
Violin Lessons

4th-9th graders
Starting June 25

The New London Community Orchestra is pleased to offer free violin lessons at the library! The lessons will be 30 minutes long for children in 4th to 9th grade and held every Monday and Wednesday (you must commit to both days). You can sign up here!
Summer Stories
Every Monday  at 10:30am
Starting June 25

Children birth to 6 years old are invited to join us Monday mornings at 10:30am for story time fun. Directly following story time there will be a craft and open play. Stop in for books, songs, rhymes,  movement activities, and more! 

Movie & Munchies: from Page to Screen
Every Wednesday at 1:00pm
Starting June 27

Families with children of all ages are invited to visit the library every Wednesday at 1:00pm to watch a family friendly movie. All movies are rated G or PG and free lunch will be provided for children. This Summer we are showing movies that are based on books. Make sure to check out the book from the library before or after watching the film! Parents are required to stay in the room with their children. On June 27 we will be showing The BFG.

Rock 'n' Read
Every Friday at 1:30pm
Starting June 29

Children of all ages can join us every Friday for a rocking activity. Every week there will be a different activity. You can look forward to music, games, crafts and more!

Museum Passes: Use your library card to check out a museum pass. Click  HERE for more information about which passes are available.

DVDs: Parents, you can now check out up to 5 DVDs total using your adult library card. This means 5 seven day titles or 4 seven day titles and 1 express. Remember, only an adult card can be used to check out DVDs.
