ALL are WELCOME

A Note From Pastor Linda

Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
(Romans 15.7)

Dear ChURch Family,

Have you ever walked into a group of people you didn't know well? Did you feel uncomfortable and weird and awkward? Have you ever been in a group and seen a new person walk in? Did you think, "I should probably talk to them, but it's just too hard"- and so you pretended that you didn't see them?

You are not alone. Being welcoming is really hard. But it is also really important.

God is the ultimate welcoming one. In the Bible we see Jesus welcoming all people- even people that others ignored; people like prostitutes, tax collectors, children and women, the lowest rung of society. Jesus welcomed all people. To be a follower of Jesus means to welcome all people.

Consider this... how would you feel if you were the new person? (You were at one point!) Wouldn't you want someone to come over and talk to you? When asked, "why Hosanna?", many of you have responded that it was the gracious WELCOME that you received. Now that you have been welcomed to the family, it is YOUR turn to welcome others.

This Sunday we have extended a special invitation to the many families who have enrolled in Sunshine Discovery Center; a time for them to get to know the Hosanna Family. The NEW Sunshine Discovery Center teachers will be here to meet us and to give tours of the NEW Infant and Toddler Rooms, the updated Pre-K Rooms, plus the Extended Adventure Program (EAP) Room. Make sure to introduce yourself to Cemantha, Mabel and Steve-, and then LOOK for someone you don't know and WELCOME them!

Here is an opportunity to BE THE CHURCH! Here is the line up for the day:
  • Worship at 9:30 AM
  • During worship- Blessing of the Animals- bring your well-behaved pet!
  • Community Potluck following worship; we grill hotdogs, and you bring something to share!
  • Bounce House and Children Activities- so much fun!
  • Sunshine Discovery Center Classrooms will be OPEN.

Here is an INVITING opportunity: Do you know someone who is looking for high-quality Christian-based care for their children? Invite them to COME and SEE the next chapter in caring for our kids at Hosanna's Sunshine Discovery Center!!

Be the chURch!

Mission Jamaica
Date: February 1-8, 2020

Interested in meeting and serving our Neighbors in Jamaica?
Get involved with Hosanna coming this Winter, 2020. A Mission Jamaica trip combines a service project, with time for reflection and spiritual rest. It allows a person to experience an international mission field that is close to home, yet far enough away to immerse yourself in another culture for a week. Over 30 years of accompanying our Jamaican neighbors, has led to over 35 Evangelical Lutheran Churches in America congregations and several colleges from Minnesota as well as North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina and Illinois in partnership with St. Andrew's in Mahtomedi, MN to get involved to make a difference for this community.

Come and see...get connected with your global neighbors! Mission Jamaica has provided a way for folk to love and serve our neighbors just as Jesus taught. Jesus said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Mark 12:30-31

This is an unforgettable opportunity for any age. Registration is open now, space is limited so SIGN UP TODAY! Travel as a family, individual, couple, or small group. This LIVE. LOVE. SERVE opportunity is a perfect way to live into Hosanna's mission! More details will be made available on our website.
