Costa Choirs selected to perform at
California Choral Director’s Association
State Conference
On March 13-16, Choral Union traveled to San Jose, California for the fourth annual California Choral Director’s Association (CCDA) State Conference. Out of 40 choirs who auditioned, they were one of eight choirs selected from across the state to perform at this conference. The venue was stunning! The performances were held in the St. Joseph Basilica in downtown San Jose, one of the most wonderful spaces in which to sing. They were the featured concert Thursday night and opened the concert. Their program was eclectic, elegant and tugged at the heart. Additionally, they solicited the help of Billy Rugh, a famous Los Angeles choreographer who has choreographed for television, movies, and the Angel City Chorale which appeared on America’s Got Talent last summer. Billy staged and choreographed two of the selections specifically designed for this unique basilica, which is in the round. The choreography was stunning, as was the performance of Choral Union. The choir received an immediate standing ovation and rave reviews. Congratulations to Choral Union and their wonderful performance at the CCDA State Conference!
