Jeffrey P. Najarian was elected as the 100th State Commander for the Department of Massachusetts, Veterans of Foreign Wars, on June 8th, 2019, at the 99th State Convention held in Leominster, MA. Jeff enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1969 and honorably discharged in 1972. While initially trained as a Communications Center Specialist, he served in Vietnam in various Artillery Battery’s' as part of the 2nd Field Force from 1970-1971. His last year in service was as the NCOIC of Transportation at the AFFEES Station, Recruiting Command, Chicago, Ill.
 
Jeff has been a member of the VFW for 45 years, joining in 1974. He became a Life Member in 1996 and a Gold Legacy Life Member in 2016. He has served in various elected and appointed positions at the Post ('All State' and 'All American Post Commander' in 2009), District and Department levels, culminating with his election as Commander of the Department of Massachusetts.
 
He is a life member of the VFW National Home; Military Order of the Cootie; DAV Chapter #50; VVA Chapter 254, Southern Connecticut; AMVETS Post 51; and a member of the American Legion, Post 147. Jeff is retired from the US Department of State, Passport Services, is married to his wife Mary (4 years) and makes his home in Rockland, MA. They have two grown sons, Adam (the Cigar Man) and Paul (the Army Captain) and have five grandsons.
