Chasity Torrence, M.D.
Topic: Mental Health Anti-stigma
 
Dr. Chasity Torrence serves both an administrative and clinical role as a full-time psychiatrist at the Mississippi State Hospital in Whitfield. In addition, she works in outpatient settings at Psycamore, LLC in Flowood and the Center for Violence Prevention in Pearl. She is actively involved in mental health advocacy and has met with Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker as part of the APA's Advocacy Day. Most recently, she has expanded her mental health outreach efforts as the co-founder of the Psychiatric Outreach Program, and volunteers monthly as an attending psychiatrist seeing homeless and uninsured patients of inner city Jackson with UMMC medical students and residents.  To learn more about CME in the Sand and to register, go here .
