Happy summer! I hope you have been enjoying taking the dogs for strolls around the field or hanging out on the cat porch with our felines. If you would like to see more volunteers spending time with our orphans, and are friendly and organized, we need you! Let us know you would like to serve as our new volunteer coordinator to conduct monthly one-hour orientations and schedule new volunteers with trainers.
KDKA Host Heather Abraham & orphan Delilah!
KDKA-TV features our orphans regularly on its Pittsburgh Today Live show and Take Me Home Tuesday segments. Because we now take at least two animals, we need a second animal handler.
KDKA Reporter Meghan Schiller puppy sat!
This means leaving the shelter bright and early on a Monday morning at 6:30 and returning at 11 a.m.
We still need a super volunteer to dismantle the burn stockade and remove the debris pile. If we can't find anyone, it will cost the shelter a lot of money to hire a contractor.
If you can help with any of these projects, reply to this message or talk to Bethann.
Thanks for all that you do! See you around the shelter!
Of Jim McClister, whose service and dedication to the animals of Orphans of the Storm will truly be missed. May Jim's kind & generous manner be reflected through our own thoughts & actions.

Orphans of the Storm is located in Armstrong County. We were established in 1969 to provide temporary shelter for unwanted and abused animals. We match lovable animals with loving forever homes, educate the public on humane, responsible care of all animals, and promote spaying and neutering to reduce companion animal overpopulation. Orphans of the Storm is a no-kill animal shelter. This means we euthanize an animal only if it is suffering with no hope to be cured, or if the animal is a danger to people or other animals.
