Dear Colleagues:

We continue to be appreciative of the support provided by our alumni and friends. The gifts we receive allow us to award scholarships, establish endowments, finance special educational initiatives, build a new Postle Hall, and so much more. All of these vital endeavors help us continue to recruit the best students and hire the most qualified staff and faculty.

Although it is an annual university-wide fundraising event, Ohio State's Day of Giving provided an opportunity for our friends and alums to make a contribution to our college. I was so pleased to learn that many more of our loyal supporters decided this was the right time to make a gift.

On March 22, the  Day of Giving resulted in 35,568 gifts made to the university, raising $4,223,100. With the average gift amounting to $120, it clearly demonstrates the value of mass giving and the notion that "every gift counts."

Our college also saw an uptick in giving that let us know the news of our successes, our current initiatives, and our needs are reaching people all over the country who realize what a difference their support can make in helping to shape the future of our college. Such a response has an immediate and lasting impact, benefiting all our programs and all those who study, care for patients, conduct research, and work in Postle Hall.

Like other dental schools across the country, we are increasingly dependent on the generosity of our graduates and others who interact with us to help create the 21st-century patient care and educational experience that is expected by those who come to our college. Through this support we can distinguish ourselves, maintain our margin of excellence, and serve as a leader in dental education.

To all of you who made a contribution to our college, we thank you most sincerely for helping to make a difference!
