State Releases 2018 FSA Results for Math, English Language Arts, End-of-Course Exams

 
Students in the School District of Palm Beach County continued to outperform their peers statewide on Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) tests across many key indicators, according to data released last week by the Florida Department of Education.

One highlight, based on an early review of the data: District students outperformed the state and other large, urban school districts on the Grade 10 English Language Arts (ELA) and Algebra end-of-course exams - both requirements for high school graduation.  Read more...

Students at Limestone Creek Elementary School recently enjoyed an opportunity to work with a professional singer and songwriter,  Terry Crossen. Mr. Crossen volunteered his time to teach 3rd through 5th graders how to write a song.

Child Prodigy: "Forget What You Know"
Jacob Barnett is an American mathematician and child prodigy. At 8 years old, Jacob began sneaking into the back of college lectures at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis. After being diagnosed with autism since the age of two and placed in his school's Special Education program, Jacob's teachers and doctors were astonished to learn he was able to teach calculus to college students. 

Jacob's message? Children with autism  need the freedom and support to be their true, authentic selves.

Chief Kitzerow Selected to Lead School District Police Department

Frank J. Kitzerow, Jr., a veteran police officer who has led the Jupiter Police Department for nearly 13 years and whose distinguished career in law enforcement spans more than 35 years, has been selected to become the next Chief of Police of the School District of Palm Beach County.

Chief Kitzerow's appointment is pending approval by the School Board at this afternoon's Board meeting.  Read more...

All teachers hired on or before January 26, 2018, are asked to register now for TeacherFest!

The annual TeacherFest event is a collaborative effort between the School District and the Palm Beach County Classroom Teachers Association (CTA).
