Here's Ed to give you a preview of tomorrow at St. Luke's

If you would like to join Tracey and Emily for a luncheon Q&A, please RSVP so we know how much food to prepare.
Chorister Evensong
The sweet voices of choristers from around the diocese will fill St. Luke’s tomorrow at 5 p.m. Choristers from St. Bart’s and Grace Episcopal will join St. Luke’s own choristers to sing a program of all female composers on the Feast of Margaret Queen of Scots. A reception follows in the Parish Hall.
Pledge Sunday is November 17
As we celebrate, please remember that it is our calling to be a part of God’s Big Love – in all its forms - through our connections with the ministries and people of our parish. To quote Cindy Wright, “My giving to St. Luke’s is an affirmation that this is where I belong. It is a commitment to creating a home for others who are looking for their tribe. It is a sharing of the gifts God has given me.”

Please RSVP for the Big Love BBQ Luncheon set for Pledge Sunday - November 17. We’ll have two worship services that day, at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Christian Education is at 9 a.m., at 11:30 a.m. we’ll gather together for a meal and fellowship. RSVP online from the Sign Up tab - you can pledge online from there as well!

As you consider your pledge, please go to the special Big Love pages on the website for information on the church’s financial status and goals. It’s all there for you to review.

The Book of Joshua tells the story of Israel’s conquest of the land. It is not only a story of triumph and faithfulness, but also a story of violence (and genocide?). How do we wrestle with such stories? And how might we make sense of the way this story has been used throughout history?

Act III Luncheon  Change for Elders: A Cause for Delight or Discomfort? features Ed Bacon speaking about his journey into elderhood and the great changes that are a part it. Using Cardinal Newman’s assertion “To live is to change and to be perfect is to have changed often,” as a starting point, Ed invites us to join him in considering change - personal, inter-personal and cultural - as we age and how it impacts our theology. While Ed will begin with his own story, there will be ample time for discussion and conversation about how this affects all of us. Join us at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 5 for lunch and Ed's program.  RSVP online or by phone 404-873-7777. Cost: $8 per person. All are welcome, so invite friends!

Continues this Wednesday: Spiritual Memoirs with Ed Bacon
What do Deepak Chopra, Cynthia Bourgeault, Richard Rohr, and Ilia Delio have in common? Each has written a spiritual memoir in a new anthology, “how I found GOD everywhere and in everything.” Seeing God in all of creation is central to ancient religious and spiritual truth that are being rediscovered in 21st century science-friendly expressions. Some refer to this as Christianity’s New Narrative, which is resonant with Jesus’s earliest teachings. If you can't be with us, this class will be streamed live online and on Facebook.
Adults $10 | Children $5 | Max. $30
Children 3 and under, no charge.
