In observation of National Bike Month, a month-long showcase of the many benefits of bicycling, Ocean Pines Police are rolling out a bike safety awareness effort that is geared to both drivers and bicyclists throughout the month of May.

Kids ages 7+ can learn lifeguard skills, basic CPR & first aid and more! If you're a returning Ocean Pines Junior Lifeguard, you'll return as a Junior Crew Chief and will learn additional skills.

The three-day sessions will meet on Tuesdays from 4:30-7pm at the Sports Core, Wednesdays from 5:30-8pm at the Oasis Pool and Thursdays from 4:30-7pm at the Sports Core. Session dates for the Junior Lifeguard Program are July 12-12, July 24-26, July 31-August 2 and August 14-16. Junior Lifeguard Officer Program dates are July 10-12 and July 31-August 2.

Ocean Pines Swim Team at the US Naval Academy this past weekend. OPST is a competitive swimming program with in Ocean Pines, MD and provides competitive swimming opportunities for youth ages 4-18. Try-outs are on May 14 & 21 at 5:30 pm- 6:30 pm at the Sports Core Pool in Ocean Pines, Md.

Fenwick Islander Motel Contributes $5,000 To Worcester County Education Foundation
Tom Sites, principal of Berlin Intermediate School and co-owner of the Fenwick Islander Motel, recently made a generous contribution of $5,000 to the Worcester County Education Foundation, on behalf of the Fenwick Islander Motel.
Craft Shop to Host Open House
The Pine’eer Artisan & Gift Shop will be hosting an open house on Saturday, May 12 from 9am till 3pm to showcase new spring items. Many are perfect for Mother’s Day gift giving. A free raffle will be held for a Pine’eer Artisan & Gift Shop Gift certificate. All items are handmade by our crafters. Profits from sales are given back to the community in the form of donations at the end of the year. The gift shop is open every weekend, Sat. 9am-3pm and Sun. 10am-3pm.

Kiwanis Opens Duck “Race” Season: Time for the ducks! Kiwanis begins their “Duck Race” season by selling $5 entries for the August 24th race to benefit Kiwanis Children’s programs like scholarships and student leadership clubs in local schools.
